Re/volve Energy is a company committed to a zero-carbon future. As a consultancy, they advise clients on renewable energy, energy efficiency and demand side services. They specialise in solar, energy storage, monitoring and billing solutions for the automation of buildings.
Says Shay, owner of Re/volve, “New Zealand has committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050. In order to be competitive in this rapidly changing market it is important to be leaders not followers. There are huge opportunities to reduce carbon emissions while also reducing costs for our clients. We provide consultancy and design services that can help individuals, businesses and communities implement the correct solution.”
Both with his previous company and with Re/volve Shay has worked on some of New Zealand’s leading environmental projects, including New Zealand’s largest roof top solar array for Foodstuffs NZ, Camp Glenorchy, a zero-energy tourist accommodation facility built on the principles of the Living Building Challenge, and more recently Cohaus, a collection of owners designing and financing their own community in Grey Lynn where it’s easy to live comfortably while minimising resource use.
When looking for an accountant for Re/volve Energy, Shay asked for recommendations from a friend, who did not hesitate to recommend Andrew. Re/volve Energy find that Xero is perfect for their everyday needs and The Accounting Hub is really easy to work with. “We do our bit and then they do what they have to do. The job just gets done.” This has led to a long-term relationship!
Shay also finds that the fixed charge works really well for his business, especially at the start. Knowing exactly how much he would need to pay for accountancy services helped him to manage the finances in the early stages of business.
“Andrew has also provided some specialist advice on particulars that have helped us to grow.”
When Re/volve first started out, The Accounting Hub was also a smaller business. “We have grown together,” explains Shay, “there is a nice camaraderie in that.” Here’s to many more years of business growth!
